Gigasec Services Limited (a subsidiary of Hobark International Limited) announces the introduction of a mini GNSS tracker designed for a wide variety of vehicle tracking applications. It has multiple digital/analog I/Os that can be used for monitoring or controlling external devices and includes a 1-wire interface used for driver ID and temperature monitoring. Its built-in GNSS subsystem has an optional external antenna allowing superior sensitivity and fast time to first fix. Its quad band GPRS/GSM subsystem supports 850/900/1800/1900 MHz allowing location to be monitored in real time or periodically tracked by a backend server and mobile devices. Its built-in 3-axis accelerometer allows motion detection and extends battery life through sophisticated power management algorithms. The 2015 device with u-blox technology supports a wide variety of reports including emergency, geo-fence boundary crossings, driving behavior, low battery and scheduled GNSS position.

Amid all of the laptop and PC news that came out of the 2015 International CES, the quiet announcement of Intel's diminutive Compute Stick comes as something of a surprise. It has tablethardware and plugs into an HDMI port, offering a PC experience in a tiny space. The Compute Stick comes in two flavors: a Linux version, and a model that's running Windows 8.1 with Bing.
